MBTA offers West End musical workshops plus classes in ballet and jazz. MBTA features well-trained, professional teachers plus progressive teaching methods, in a non-competitive and encouraging enviroment.

Jazz, musical theatre and ballet are key to a successful West End performer, therefore at MBTA studying all three disciplines is compulsary

Pupils are divided into groups according to the strengths, experience and age. At least one class per month will be taught by a second professional West End dancer, that is not Matthew Boulton. For example Matthew will teach ballet and jazz and a second teacher will teach musical theatre. Each class studied is one hour in length.

Musical Theatre
  • Following the market trends, a range of musical theatre repertoire will be taught alongside a presentation of images from the show and a question and answer section at the end of the session.
  • Jazz
  • Classes will study a fusion of Matt Matox, Bob Fosse and current jazz styles, required for today's dancer. Classes will be similar to those Matthew teaches at vocational colleges but will be adapted to the group's capability.
  • Ballet
  • Ballet will help develop poise, co-ordination, discipline, musicality and expression. Ballet is the foundation of all dance and its importance is often overlooked prior to vocational musical theatre training. This class aims to educate the aspiring young musical theatre performer of ballet's importance.
