About Mediation

Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Mediation is fast and cost effective. Most issues are resolved in a day. Mediation is successful in over 90% of the cases.

Mediation is an effective method for addressing a variety of work-related matters, including:

Workplace

For example nearly all IT projects will run into problems through their life. Significant percentages are abandoned; another significant percentage end up in court. MSL believes a court settlement should be your last resort when trying to recover failing IT projects. Court cases cost a fortune and distract executives from managing their own organisation. We recommend mediation a process of dispute resolution with real agreements that helps both you and your supplier recover a workable relationship and bring projects to a successful conclusion.

What is the process of Mediation?

Before the mediation, the parties will prepare from their point of view Position Statements and send them to the mediator. The mediation will begin with a joint introductory session. Other parties and legal representatives may be present, as may any other party with a legitimate interest in the dispute. Each party will then retire to their own rooms and the mediator will move between each room. The mediator will explore the issues with each side in private. The mediator might gather both parties together to work out a solution, or might move between them so that they do not have to meet. As the day progresses, the mediator will assist the parties to formulate pragmatic solutions.

How much does business mediation cost and how long does it take?

At mediation services, we charge based on a one-day session per client arte to be agreed per case with clients. This will last from 10 am to 6 pm and will involve several hours of pre-reading. We also charge per client for a half-day session. This will be a four-hour session. Some mediation continues after the four hours and there may be an additional hourly charge after if this happens. There may also be chargeable disbursements such as room-hire costs. The fees are shared equally between the parties.

We aim to resolve cases on the day. For complex cases where follow up is appropriate it maybe more then session.
